We have to come to grips with a frightening fact….. we all have an insane advisor in our minds. Most call it the ego. It seems to separate all of us from each other and the world by constantly focusing on what is different. Every great teacher advises us to look for the Oneness and similarities in each other and the ego does the exact opposite! The ego focuses on comparisons, always making us inferior or superior to others or at best separate. The Great Teachers always advise us to look for the connection, the sameness. The ego’s thoughts are always focused on attack or defense while the Still, Small Voice always advises understanding and compassion. Which voice do you hear most? Which advice do you listen to?
